We were drawn to buying a house here after many years of visiting the area and falling in love with it, each visit becoming a little more seduced by the combination of sophistication and, at the same time, almost backwardly rural. The people are wonderful, welcoming, and truly passionate about their local culture, traditions, food, and drink. The village has its own unique character, and the variety of views are consistently breathtaking. Despite coming as much as we can (every season offering its own rewards), ticking off a must-do place or experience each time, the list keeps expanding as we keep finding new places to visit, restaurants to try, and so forth. We have made some wonderful friends here from various backgrounds and cultures, permanent and occasional residents, but our community is centered around a love of all things Umbrian.
We hope you will catch the bug as we have and also take time to enjoy being here. We have tried to provide a good selection (in no particular order) of places and stuff we have tried, as well as those that are also on our to-do list. We would love to hear your feedback, as well as any new places you visit or experiences you have.
Casa Ventinove is a much-treasured family home, and we hope that the level of comfort and ambiance of the house reflects that. We want you to feel at home and settle into the slow rhythm of life in Silvignano, embracing the change of pace for the time you are here.
